Things to consider when building your business plan (...or, are you going to make this a business or a hobby) |
Winkie, a huacaya gelding from White Barn Meadows Alpacas, of Buxton, ME, USA, is showing off his full fleece the day before sheering.
Shearing is part of the yearly cycle in every alpaca's life. Here Winkie is getting his yearly sheering. He has one blue eye and is deaf, but that doesn't hold him back from being an extremely valuable farm asset. He is the alfa, and he produces absolutely outstanding fiber. |
Here a veterinarian is giving Juarez, a gelding from White Barn Meadows Alpacas his rabies shot. Alpacas normally get a set of shots annually, and some get other preventative shots as often as once a month. Check with your veterinarian to see what they recommend for alpacas in your area.
